schild-cs-510-ad-andorra-road-sign-shot-glass-15oz
Schild CS 510 AD (Andorra) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

Schild CS 510 AD (Andorra) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

This design takes the form of a road sign, the Schild CS 510 AD, and places it in service of Andorra, the small principality tucked into the eastern Pyrenees between France and Spain.

Visual Elements & Composition

The composition is built around a single, centred sign form with the designation CS 510 AD carried as its identifying text. Nothing competes with it. The layout is plain and frontal, the way signage is meant to be read at a glance, and the lettering and numerals do the work that decoration would otherwise do. The result is calm and orderly, with the sign itself dominating the field.

Meaning & Symbolism

Road signs are a language of their own, using standardised shapes and codes so that a driver can understand them without a word of translation. This design borrows that discipline and applies it to a nation. The CS 510 AD code gives the emblem its specific identity, while the reference to Andorra ties it to a country whose heritage and geography sit at the crossroads of France and Spain. For collectors of European signage, national insignia and classic heraldic-style design, the piece reads as a small piece of regional identity made legible.

Built for the Shot Glass in Hand

A shot glass is lifted, tilted and set down within a few seconds, so the design has to hold up at close range. Here the sign sits where your eye lands as the glass rises, and the numerals stay readable from the moment you pick it up. It is a small object, and this is a small, precise emblem, which suits the way a shot is drunk. Pour one for a friend who has a soft spot for maps, road trips or things with a number stamped on them, and the design will do the talking.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/schild-cs-510-ad-andorra-road-sign-shot-glass-15oz-GMY-SHOT-SCHCS-1P5OZ-1FVYI-front.webp?v=1793594940
