A shield or sign outline gives the design its structure, and the alphanumeric code GC 1 AD sits at its core as the dominant element. There is no surrounding clutter. The lettering does the work, so the eye goes straight to the designation and then to the framing shape that holds it.

Meaning & Symbolism

The word Schild means shield or sign, and the design leans on that double meaning: a shield signals heraldry and identity, while a sign points to a place and its markers. Paired with Andorra, a small mountain country between France and Spain, the emblem reads as a regional identifier, the kind of graphic that marks a territory in the same way that European crests and insignia have long done. The mood is formal, drawing on the tradition of European heraldry and geographic emblems.

Reading the Shot Glass

A shot glass is small and held close, so this emblem is seen at the range it was made for: a few centimetres from the eye, turned in the hand. The shield outline follows the curve of the glass, and the GC 1 AD designation comes into focus as the glass is lifted. It suits a moment of toasting with friends who know the place, or a keepsake for someone with a connection to Andorra who appreciates a designation that means something to them.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/schild-gc-1-ad-andorra-road-sign-shot-glass-15oz-GMY-SHOT-SCHGC-1P5OZ-front.webp?v=1793594571
