The designation GC 2 AD sits within the emblem as its identifying mark, and the name Andorra anchors it to a place. Nothing is scattered around the edges. The eye moves from the shield to the lettering and back, which is how official signage is meant to be read: quickly, clearly, and without decoration getting in the way.

Meaning & Symbolism

The word Schild is German for shield, and that root points the design toward the long European tradition of heraldry, where a shield carries the identity of a family, a town or a state. Here the shield is used as a sign. It marks a regional and administrative reference, identifying a specific point of Andorra rather than describing the country as a whole. The result is a piece that treats territory, regional identity and formal marking as one subject, drawn in the plain language of road signage.

Lifted, Turned and Read Up Close

A shot glass is small and held close, usually lifted to eye level before it is tipped back. That is exactly the distance at which an emblem like this is meant to be read, so the shield and its lettering come into view as the glass is raised. It makes a fitting piece for anyone who notices the signs on a route, or who has a fondness for the visual language of maps, borders and official markers, and it gives that interest a quiet, cheeky place on the bar cart.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/schild-gc-2-ad-andorra-road-sign-shot-glass-15oz-GMY-SHOT-SCHGC-1P5OZ-1FVYO-front.webp?v=1793594444
