Dark blue and black form the strongest structure, with crimson and bright blue at the edges. The two cosmonauts are the central subjects, with the Mir station model set behind them and the flag at one side. The printed words are МИР, the name of the station, and РОССИЯ, the Russian name for the country.

Meaning & Symbolism

The scene commemorates the Soyuz TM-23 mission, which launched on 21 February 1996 from Baikonur to carry a crew to Mir. The station model stands for the orbital laboratory that Russia kept continuously crewed in that period, and the flag marks the national programme behind the flight. The cosmonauts represent the crews who rotated through the station and carried out its research, and the mission sits in the transition from the earlier TM series toward the later spacecraft.

On a Tall Pint Glass

A pint glass wraps a tall curved surface, so the photograph sits across one face of the vessel and the two figures come into view as you turn it in the hand. The frosted matte surface softens the off-white field and lets the dark blue and crimson tones read as a calm, documentary image at close range.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/soyuz-tm-23-soyuz-space-programme-frosted-pint-glass-16oz-default-title-position1.webp?v=1760830207
