sp-037-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz
SP-037 (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

SP-037 (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

This design takes the form of a road sign, with the word Brazil and its catalogue identifier, SP-037, set out as the only messages on the surface.

Visual Elements & Composition

The composition is deliberately spare. The sign format does the work: a single bordered panel, a clear hierarchy of place name and reference code, and no decoration beyond what a roadside marker needs. Nothing competes with the lettering, so the eye moves straight from the country name to the code beneath it.

Meaning & Symbolism

A road sign points somewhere. Here the destination is Brazil, a country named directly, so the piece reads as a waypoint rather than a landscape. The geographic theme and the conceptual treatment sit side by side: the artwork is about the idea of a place, and the sign format turns that idea into a direction you can follow. The SP-037 code marks it as one entry in a numbered thematic series of designs.

On the Mixing Glass

A glass is a surface you turn in your hand, and a road sign is a message you read as you pass it. Put the two together and the design gets a chance to be read in motion, with Brazil and its code coming into view as the glass is lifted and tilted. It is a good companion for a glass that gets used for mixing, where the sign becomes a small talking point at the bar cart.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-037-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-SP037-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793733505
