Nothing is crowded. The design relies on a direct, uncluttered arrangement, so the eye settles on the sign's central subject first and the framing second. The SP-049 reference runs through the artwork as a catalogue designation, which keeps the piece tied to its series.

Meaning & Symbolism

Road signs exist to tell travellers where they are and where they are heading. Borrowing that visual language and applying it to Brazil turns the country into a destination on a map. The design's themes of Brazil, geography and travel all point the same way: a journey, a place to arrive at, and a sense of direction. The mood is neutral and matter-of-fact, which lets the subject carry the message without embellishment.

Lifting a Glass to the Journey

A mixing glass is tall, narrow at the base and held close, so the sign's framing wraps around a curved surface as you tilt it. Each time the glass is lifted, the Brazil design turns in the light and is read in small, moving sections. It suits a glass that is used for stirring and pouring, because the sign becomes part of the ritual of making a drink and sending it along.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-049-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-SP049-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793736379
