Brazil is the one thing the eye is meant to find, and the layout gives it the whole field. The catalogue designation SP-057 is the only numeral attached to the artwork.

Meaning & Symbolism

A road sign points the way, and this one points to Brazil, a country of vast geography and a strong national identity. Its geographic and national themes make it a marker of place: a reminder of where a journey leads, or where someone's heart is. The sign format turns the country into a destination.

Designed for the Mixing Glass

A mixing glass is a vessel you hold, tilt and turn while you work, and the design travels with it on every turn. Because the glass is built to shake and to serve, the sign gets handled and looked at from close range, at the table and during the pour. Each time it is lifted, Brazil comes back into view, so the artwork becomes part of the ritual rather than a backdrop to it. It is a sign that stays with you on the way to the next round.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-057-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-SP057-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793687168
