Its codes, SP-066 and Brazil, are the only text the catalogue records, and they name the piece. The layout is direct and uncluttered, so the eye settles on the sign first and then on the country it points to.

Meaning & Symbolism

A road sign is a public promise of direction, telling travellers where they are and where the route leads. Used as the frame for a national theme, the form turns Brazil into a place you arrive at, not just a name on a map. The catalogue files the design under Brazil and national identity, so the sign reads as a tribute to the country and its place in the wider world.

Crafted for the Mixing Glass

A mixing glass is a tall, slender vessel that is lifted, tilted and turned in the hand while the drink is stirred and poured. The sign sits on the glass in the same way, so the design follows the object's curve as it moves from hand to hand. Each time the glass is raised, the road sign comes back into view, a small journey made at every pour.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-066-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-SP066-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793687692
