sp-102-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz
SP-102 (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

SP-102 (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

This design takes the form of a road sign, with the code SP-102 and the name Brazil, and it presents a piece of Brazilian road signage as the whole subject of the artwork.

Visual Elements & Composition

The composition is built around the sign itself. The SP-102 lettering and the word Brazil sit at the centre of the design, with nothing competing for attention. The layout is plain and direct, so the code reads first and the country second. Its restraint is the point: the sign is shown as a functional marker, not decorated or reimagined.

Meaning & Symbolism

The prefix SP identifies a road in the state of São Paulo, Brazil's most populous state, and the number that follows marks the route within that network. Road signs like this one are how a traveller orients themselves, so the artwork carries a sense of journeys, distances and the everyday geography of a place. It is a reminder that a country's identity often lives in its most ordinary public objects.

On the Mixing Glass

A road sign is a flat, bold graphic meant to be read at a glance, and this design suits a vessel that is picked up and turned in the hand. As the glass is tilted, lifted and set down during mixing or serving, the sign's clear lettering comes into view and passes the eye at close range. The code and the country name stay legible from every angle, which gives the piece a quiet, practical presence on the bar cart or the kitchen counter.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-102-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-SP102-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793688793
