Its layout puts the route designation at the centre of attention, with nothing added to compete with it. The lettering and numerals carry the image, so the eye lands on the code first and reads the rest of the sign afterwards. The overall effect is clean and recognisable, the kind of graphic you could pick out from a roadside at a glance.

Meaning & Symbolism

The sign points to a specific route. SP is the abbreviation for the state of São Paulo, and SP-127 is one of the state highways that run through it. Road signs are a language of their own: a short code, a clear shape and a message meant to be read while moving. Here that language is used to mark a place, turning a stretch of Brazilian road into a piece of visual identity. The Brazil reference runs through the whole design, linking the route code to the country it belongs to.

Designed for the Curve of a Mixing Glass

A 16oz mixing glass is a tall, upright vessel that you turn in the hand as you pour and stir, so a design on its side is seen in passing rather than head-on. A sign works well in that setting. Its bold, simple code stays legible as the glass rotates, and the route reads like a waypoint each time the glass is lifted. It is a fitting pairing: a road marker on a glass built for travelling through a drink.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-127-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-SP127-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793689287
