sp-151-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz
SP-151 (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

SP-151 (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

SP-151 is a stylised road-sign design that takes Brazil as its subject, presented as one numbered entry in a collection of thematic graphics.

Visual Elements & Composition

The design is built around its code. The title's SP-151 reads as the central element, set within a sign-like format that echoes the way Brazilian highways are marked. The "(Brazil)" and "(Road Sign)" qualifiers frame the number, so the composition reads as a clean, catalogued graphic rather than a scene. Its mood is neutral and restrained, with no drama added to the lettering or the numerals.

Meaning & Symbolism

In Brazilian road numbering, the SP prefix marks a highway in the state of São Paulo, and the number identifies the route itself. That gives the artwork its meaning: a piece of travel infrastructure turned into a symbol of place. The road sign stands for movement, distance and regional identity, the sense of a particular route through a particular country. The design's themes of Brazil, regional character and travel all come from that single marker.

Made for the Mixing Glass

A road sign is read at a glance, and this design rewards the same habit. Wrapped around a tapering, curved surface, the sign turns as the glass is lifted and set down, so the number is seen in pieces with each pour and each sip. It is a good match for a vessel that spends its time in the hand, where the artwork comes into view at close range, and it gives the everyday routine of mixing a drink a little road-trip character.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-151-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-SP151-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793689862
