The alphanumeric code SP-153 and the name Brazil carry the weight of the piece, so the lettering and numerals do the work that imagery would do elsewhere. Nothing competes with them, and the layout stays clean and direct, which is how signage is meant to be read: at a glance, from a distance.

Meaning & Symbolism

Road signs are a language of navigation. A route number paired with a regional name tells you where you are and where a road leads, and this design keeps that logic intact. The pairing of a numbered series with a geographic name places the piece within a family of regional and numerical designs, where each marker belongs to a larger system of places and routes.

Designed for the Pint in Hand

A pint glass is held rather than displayed, and the design is made for that. Its lettering and numerals sit on a surface that turns in the hand, so the code and the name come into view as the glass is lifted and tilted. It is a fitting piece for anyone who likes their drinks tied to a place, and a conversation starter for the moment the glass is passed across the table.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-153-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-SP153-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793689921
