The designation SP-160 sits at the centre of the artwork, and its numerals carry the composition, so the eye lands on the code before anything else. The graphic is simple and direct, with no competing illustration, which gives the sign the clean, instantly readable quality of signage meant to be seen at speed.

Meaning & Symbolism

A route marker is a promise about place. The SP prefix ties the number to São Paulo state, and the figure 160 places it within that state's network of numbered highways. Read this way, the design stands for movement across Brazilian geography: the long roads that connect towns, farmland and cities. It is a piece of everyday infrastructure lifted into a piece of regional identity, and it celebrates the country through the things people drive past every day.

On the Mixing Glass

A road sign is designed to be read in passing, and this glass suits that. The artwork wraps the full curve of the vessel, so the designation comes into view as the glass is turned in the hand. It makes a thoughtful gift for someone who has driven these roads, or who keeps a fondness for Brazil and the journeys that shape it.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-160-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-SP160-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793689978
