sp-201-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz
SP-201 (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

SP-201 (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

SP-201 is a conceptual artwork that takes Brazil as its single subject, held together by a clean identifier rather than a set of pictures.

Visual Elements & Composition

The design avoids the familiar visual shorthand of the country. There are no flags, figures or landscapes to read at a glance. What dominates is the code itself, SP-201, set out as a plain reference mark beside the name Brazil. The composition is spare and orderly, with nothing ornamental competing for attention, so the eye reads it as a label first and an image second.

Meaning & Symbolism

The code works like an entry in a catalogue. Its categorical structure places Brazil within a larger, systematic exploration of national identity, where the country is defined by its name and its cultural and geographical significance rather than by any single emblem. Themes of geography, national identity and categorisation run through the piece, and its neutral mood asks for measured attention rather than strong emotion.

Why It Suits the Mixing Glass

A catalogue mark belongs on something handled often, and this glass is handled often. Its narrower lower section sits naturally in the hand, so the identifier comes into view every time the glass is lifted and set down. Shaken, stirred or poured, it keeps the same quiet, organised look. For anyone who likes their shelves filed as neatly as their thoughts, this is a warm, cheeky way to show a connection to Brazil.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-201-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-SP201-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793690411
