sp-227-brazil-road-sign-white-coffee-mug
SP-227 (Brazil) (Road Sign) White Coffee Mug

SP-227 (Brazil) (Road Sign) White Coffee Mug

Two-tone and strictly graphic, this flat vector piece reproduces a pentagonal route marker with the letters SP above the number 227.

Visual Elements & Composition

The palette is limited to black and white, with white covering most of the field and black reserved for the pentagonal outline and the lettering. The shield is centred and fills the frame, so the two characters read at a glance. There is no background texture or ornament, and the geometry is clean enough that the marker looks as sharp in print as it would on a painted sign.

Meaning & Symbolism

SP is the state code for São Paulo, and the number identifies the state route it marks. Shields of this kind are a standard feature of Brazilian road networks, so the piece stands as a direct reference to how the country signposts its highways rather than as a symbolic image.

Life on the Mug

A mug wraps the artwork around a curved surface, and the pentagon sits neatly across that curve as the cup is turned. The strong black-on-white contrast carries well from across a table, which suits a piece built from so few elements.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-227-brazil-road-sign-white-coffee-mug-GMY-MUG-SP227-11OZ-front.webp?v=1793832769
