The code SP-327 sits at the centre of the composition as the dominant element, with the national designation Brazil presented alongside it. Nothing decorative competes with these two pieces of text. The arrangement reads like a signboard: the numerals come first, the place follows, and the eye has nowhere else to go.

Meaning & Symbolism

A road sign exists to identify a route and a place, and this artwork borrows that purpose exactly. The pairing of a serial-style code with a country name joins two systems of identification, one numerical and one geographical. The code marks a specific designation, and Brazil anchors it to a national context. The result is a piece about naming and locating, rather than about imagery or ornament.

On the Mixing Glass

A mixing glass is a vessel held and tilted in the hand, so a sign-style design suits it well. Set on a glass that is turned and lifted during every pour, the code and country name are read in passing, one line of signage at a time. The design's plain, information-first character gives the glass a clear face, and the road-sign framing turns an everyday serving vessel into a small piece of wayfinding for whoever is holding it.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-327-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-SP327-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793741724
