The alphanumeric index SP-356 and the country name carry the whole design, with no decorative border or illustration around them. Their arrangement reads like a road sign, so the eye moves straight to the code and then to the place it identifies. The lettering is what dominates the surface, and every mark is there to be read.

Meaning & Symbolism

The design works as an index entry. SP-356 is a reference number, and Brazil is the territory it points to, so the two elements join a geographic identity to an ordered system of naming. Its themes are Geography, Identification and National Identity, and the piece is about how a nation becomes something you can look up and cite. It speaks to order and orientation, the way a sign tells you where you are and which way the country lies.

Holding the Sign in Hand

A road sign is meant to be read at a glance, and this glass rewards the same habit. Its narrow base sits comfortably in the hand, so the lettering turns toward you as you lift it, and each time you pour or shake, SP-356 and Brazil pass in front of you again. It makes a sensible gift for someone who keeps notes on distant places, or for anyone who likes their drinkware to carry a small, deliberate piece of information.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-356-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-SP356-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793729334
