A single sign sits at the centre of the frame, and the route number and the Brazil reference carry the design. Nothing competes with the code itself, so the eye goes to the numerals first and the place name second. The layout is frontal and flat, the way a driver would meet it at the roadside.

Meaning & Symbolism

Road signs are functional text: a number and a name that tell travellers where they are and where a route leads. SP-362 belongs to the highway network of São Paulo, Brazil's most populous state, so the sign stands for the everyday geography of inland travel across the country. Lifted out of the highway and set on a piece of drinkware, it becomes a small emblem of the journey itself.

On the Mixing Glass

A mixing glass is built for stirring, pouring and handling, and this design suits an object that is turned in the hand with every pour. The sign's bold, centred layout passes in view as the glass tilts, so the code and the name appear again and again during use. For someone who has driven a Brazilian road, or who simply loves a place they have been, the sign turns each drink into a reminder of the trip.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-362-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-SP362-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793702164
