Its lettering and numerals carry the message: the SP-376 code sits at the centre of the composition, with the Brazil reference reading clearly beside it. Nothing competes for attention. The layout is clean and straightforward, so the eye lands on the code first and then on the place it names.

Meaning & Symbolism

Road signs are how a country explains itself to the people travelling through it. The SP-376 designation belongs to the Brazilian highway system, where codes like this one tie a route to a state and a place on the map. The piece draws on that system, so the sign stands for geography, navigation and the everyday culture of getting from one town to the next. It is a regional artefact rendered as a graphic, not a souvenir of a single landmark.

On this Mixing Glass

A mixing glass is a tall, curved surface that gets turned in the hand and carried from bench to table, so the sign wraps around the vessel rather than sitting flat before the eye. The narrow base means the design runs up a form that is held close and looked at while it is in use. Pour, stir and set it down again, and the sign keeps turning with you. It is a good match for anyone who likes a road trip in their drinks cabinet, and a fitting gift for someone who has Brazil on their travel list.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-376-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-SP376-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793702426
