sp-392-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz
SP-392 (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

SP-392 (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

SP-392 (Brazil) takes Brazil as its single subject, presented as a clear, representative design identified by its catalogue number.

Visual Elements & Composition

The composition is direct and uncluttered, and its neutral mood comes from one focal idea rather than a busy scene. The SP-392 designation sits alongside the word Brazil, so the name does much of the work of telling you what you are looking at. The road sign format in the title points to a signage-style presentation, built for legibility and for reading at a glance.

Meaning & Symbolism

Brazil, as this design frames it, brings together national identity and regional geography. Read through that lens, the piece is about place: a country as a shared identity, expressed through the visual language of signs, which exist to point people from one location to another. Its catalogue number keeps it within a wider collection of geographic and culturally themed works, so each piece is read in relation to the others.

On the Mixing Glass

A mixing glass is a working object. It is filled, stirred and poured from, and it is held close while a drink is made. That closeness suits a sign-inspired design. The eye follows the artwork as the glass is turned in the hand, taking in one section at a time, much as a driver reads a sign passing by. For anyone who likes to mix a drink, or who is shopping for someone who does, this is a piece that carries a clear sense of place into the making of every round.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-392-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-SP392-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793702881
