The layout is deliberately plain and uncluttered, so the text does the work and nothing competes with it. Nothing in the design pulls the eye away from the name, which keeps the Brazilian connection at the centre of the viewer's attention.

Meaning & Symbolism

The "SP" prefix follows Brazil's road-numbering convention, where state highways carry their state's two-letter code. Here the code points to São Paulo, the most populous state in the country, and the number marks a specific route within it. A road sign like this stands for travel, distance and the everyday geography of a place, and the design's themes of national identity and regional pride give that route a wider meaning as a marker of where someone is from.

Shaping the Mixing Glass

A mixing glass is a tall, curved vessel that sits in the hand while the drink is stirred, poured and carried, so the design wraps its full height rather than sitting on a flat face. The designation reads as you turn the glass, a route that runs around the vessel and back to its start. Pour a drink into it and the sign becomes part of the ritual, a small reminder of a road you might want to take.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-426-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-SP426-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793735370
