The route designation sits at the centre of the layout, and the sign's lettering and numerals carry the image without any decorative detail around them. Shapes are plain and geometric, with no illustration competing for attention. The result reads at a glance, the way a roadside marker is meant to be read by someone passing at speed.

Meaning & Symbolism

"SP" refers to the state of São Paulo, and "433" is the number assigned to this particular highway within Brazil's road network. Road signs are functional objects, designed to be understood instantly, and this artwork keeps that purpose intact. It turns a piece of wayfinding into a statement about place, direction and the simple pleasure of knowing exactly where a road leads.

Made for the Mixing Glass

A road sign is a thing you take in quickly, and a glass is a thing you hold close. Here the marker sits on a surface that curves around the hand, so the route code is seen in pieces as the glass is lifted, turned and set down again. The design rewards that small, repeated attention, and it suits a glass that spends its time on a bar counter or a kitchen table, where a good drink and a good conversation come first.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-433-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-SP433-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793722277
