The designation SP-455 dominates the layout as text and numerals rather than illustration, with the word Brazil placed alongside it to anchor the sign to its country. Nothing competes with that pairing. The composition is spare and structured, so the lettering does the work of a sign face.

Meaning & Symbolism

A road sign identifies a route, and SP-455 is exactly that kind of marker. The "SP" prefix points to the state of São Paulo, and the number locates a particular road within Brazil's numbered state highway network. The design treats the code as the story: an identifier stripped of decoration, so the route itself becomes the point of interest for anyone who has travelled it or wondered where it leads.

On the Mixing Glass

A mixing glass is lifted, tipped and turned in the hand, so the sign is read in motion, with the lettering rotating as the glass moves. The sides wrap the designation fully, so SP-455 reads as a route you pass with every pour. A road marker on a glass that doubles as a serving vessel is a cheeky way to mark a journey, and a fitting toast for anyone who has driven that road.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-455-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-SP455-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793719337
