The lettering and numerals are the dominant feature, and nothing competes with them. The layout is plain and direct, so the eye reads the code first and the country second.

Meaning & Symbolism

The "SP" prefix refers to São Paulo, the Brazilian state whose highways carry this lettering, and "504" is the route number that places the road within that network. Road signs are designed to be read at a glance, and this one carries that purpose into a piece about Brazil's regional geography and everyday infrastructure. It records a place by its working details rather than a postcard view.

Designed for the Mixing Glass

A road sign is read from a distance, but this design is seen up close. Once the glass is in hand, the sign wraps a tall, curved surface and reads as you turn it, with the route number passing across your line of sight as you pour, stir or sip. The lettering stays legible from every angle, so the design rewards the small moments of handling that a glass gets.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-504-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-SP504-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793726652
