sp-557-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz
SP-557 (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

SP-557 (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

SP-557 (Brazil) is a conceptual design built on a single idea: a designation that points directly at Brazil.

Visual Elements & Composition

The composition is deliberately spare. The name is the image, with the code SP-557 and the word Brazil set in parentheses at the centre of the piece, and no supporting imagery competing for attention. The "Road Sign" reference in the title gives the designation a signposted, directional quality, as though the name were a marker pointing the way to a destination.

Meaning & Symbolism

The design draws on the cultural and geographic identity of Brazil. Its meaning sits in the link between the regional title and the abstract nature of the design itself. It avoids complex allegories: the association with Brazil is clear and direct, and the piece reads as a nod to the country and an expression of connection to, or appreciation for, its culture. Its mood is calm and neutral, letting the subject carry the message.

On the Mixing Glass

A mixing glass is a vessel that is lifted and turned in the hand, so its design is seen from many angles in a single evening. The short, clear designation suits that kind of close, repeated viewing. Each turn brings the name back into view, so the signpost to Brazil is something you read in passing, every time you reach for the glass.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-557-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-SP557-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793699875
