The letters and numerals are the subject, so the eye goes straight to them and stays there. Nothing decorative distracts from the code itself, which gives the piece the plain, direct character of an official-looking sign rather than an illustration.

Meaning & Symbolism

SP-666 is a road designation within the state of São Paulo, Brazil. The "SP" prefix marks the state, and the number identifies the route, so the design works as a compact map reference. Put together, the code and the country name turn an ordinary road marker into a statement about place, and about the kind of travel that a numbered road implies: a long drive, a familiar stretch, a route someone knows by heart.

Designed for the Mixing Glass

A tall glass asks to be turned in the hand, so the sign reads as you rotate it. Its designation stays in view as the glass curves past your fingers, with the route number appearing in full whenever you lift it to the light. It makes a cheeky, understated pick for anyone who has ever navigated by road number, or who has a Brazilian road trip still on their list.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-666-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-SP666-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793701476
