White covers about four-fifths of the frame and black forms the border and the lettering. The pentagon is centred and sits upright, with the SP stacked over the numerals 682 at equal weight. There is no background detail, texture or secondary symbol, so the route marker is the entire composition.

Meaning & Symbolism

Brazilian state highways carry a two-letter code naming the state that maintains them. SP is the abbreviation for São Paulo, and 682 is the number of this road within that network. The pentagon is the familiar shape of a route shield, a marker that tells a driver which road they have joined. Its plain, modern drawing mirrors the way transport signage is designed today.

In the Hand

A mug is lifted and turned, so the shield appears in short glances as the cup moves. The inner border keeps the outline crisp as the curved wall carries part of the sign out of view. The numerals are bold and widely spaced, so they remain clear from a little distance, which suits a piece of drinkware that is picked up many times in a day.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-682-brazil-road-sign-white-coffee-mug-GMY-MUG-SP682-11OZ-front.webp?v=1793831821
