sp-696-brazil-road-sign-shot-glass-15oz
SP-696 (Brazil) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

SP-696 (Brazil) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

A bold black-bordered pentagon reading SP 696 on a white ground is a Brazilian state route shield, pared back to shape, colour and number.

Visual Elements & Composition

White dominates at around six-sevenths of the design, with black used for a heavy pentagonal border and the lettering. The thick border is the strongest element and gives the shield its weight. Inside it, the letters SP sit above the numerals 696, both in solid black and centred. The space around the shield is left empty, which keeps attention on the marker. The flat vector finish means every edge is sharp and the contrast holds up at small sizes.

Meaning & Symbolism

The design reproduces a state route shield from São Paulo. "SP" names the state and "696" is the route number, so the artwork follows the labelling system used on the region's roads. The pentagon is the shape reserved for state routes, and drivers learn to pick it out from the surrounding signs. The design is a utilitarian piece, faithful to the signs it copies, and its modern, minimal character reflects the infrastructure it stands for.

Shaped for a Shot Glass

A shot glass is small and held close, so the heavy border reads well at near range, and the bold numerals stay legible when the glass is lifted. The straight edges of the pentagon sit neatly against the glass's clean sides, and the black-on-white contrast carries clearly through the glass. It is a direct design for a small, direct object.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-696-brazil-road-sign-shot-glass-15oz-GMY-SHOT-SP696-1P5OZ-front.webp?v=1793815322
