The pentagon outline is black and an inner border follows its edges, giving the shield a framed look. Inside, the SP designation sits over the numerals 738 in a single weight of dark lettering. The arrangement is upright and symmetrical, with nothing beyond the sign itself.

Meaning & Symbolism

Brazilian state highways are marked with a two-letter code for the state responsible for them. SP stands for São Paulo, and 738 is the number of this route within that state's road network. The sign represents wayfinding, the repeated marker that confirms a traveller is on the correct road. Its minimal, modern treatment reflects how transport signage is drawn in the present day.

Where the Eye Lands

A mug is held and turned, so the shield appears in brief glances rather than a fixed view, and its bold outline gives the eye an immediate target. The inner border keeps the shape legible as the curved surface rotates away from the viewer. Set against a plain background, the numerals remain easy to read from across a desk or counter, which suits a piece of drinkware used through the day.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-738-brazil-road-sign-white-coffee-mug-GMY-MUG-SP738-11OZ-front.webp?v=1793831970
