sp-742-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz
SP-742 (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

SP-742 (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

SP-742 takes the form of a road sign and carries Brazil as its subject, turning a familiar piece of roadside signage into a statement about a country.

Visual Elements & Composition

The design is built around the road-sign format, a framed panel that reads at a glance. Its message is carried by the title itself: the country name Brazil sits alongside the designation SP-742, so the sign works as a label and a code at once. Nothing competes with that lettering, and the layout keeps the eye moving across the panel from name to designation.

Meaning & Symbolism

A road sign tells you where you are and where you are going. Here that idea is applied to Brazil, a country defined by its geography and regional identity, the two themes the design is filed under. The SP-742 designation adds a second layer, presenting the country as one entry in a numbered series, the kind of catalogue reference that signals a specific place rather than a generic image of it.

Built for the Mixing Glass

A mixing glass is a working vessel, filled, stirred and poured, and the sign sits on it the same way a route marker sits on a road. Its straight-edged format suits a glass that is held steady and turned in the hand, so the lettering stays readable from the bar top to the table. Pour a round, mix a drink, and the sign is there at every stage, a little cheeky, a little travelled, and always pointing somewhere new.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-742-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-SP742-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793694033
