That code is the heart of the piece: the "SP" marks a road in the state of São Paulo, and "746" is the route number, so the composition reads the way a driver would read a sign at a junction. The layout is direct and uncluttered, letting the lettering and the sign's outline carry the design.

Meaning & Symbolism

Road signs are about navigation and place. Each number points to a specific route through a specific region, so the design celebrates Brazil through its landscape of highways and the way people move across it. The SP-746 code ties the artwork to São Paulo state, a region that has shaped much of the country's modern road network and its everyday life.

On the Mixing Glass

A road sign is made to be read at a glance, and this glass gives it the same treatment. The design wraps around a tall, straight-sided vessel, so the sign stays in view as the glass is lifted, turned and set back down on the bar cart. It works as a conversation starter for anyone who has driven, or dreamed of driving, the roads of Brazil.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-746-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-SP746-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793694249
