SP-839 sits at the centre of the design as the dominant element, with the word Brazil marking the country of origin. Nothing else competes for attention. The layout reads like the sign it reproduces, direct and uncluttered, so the numerals and lettering carry the whole image.

Meaning & Symbolism

A route marker is a promise of direction. Codes like SP-839 tell travellers where a road goes and which part of the state it serves, so the design carries a quiet civic meaning: the everyday language of getting from one place to another. Its Brazilian origin and São Paulo designation place it firmly within that tradition of road signage.

On the Mixing Glass

A road sign is read at a glance by someone moving past it, but on a glass it becomes something you hold and turn. The code wraps around a curved, upright surface, so the numerals stretch and settle as the glass moves in the hand. Reading it becomes a small ritual each time the drink is poured or stirred, and the route is never more than an arm's length away.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-839-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-SP839-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793695140
