sp-901-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz
SP-901 (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

SP-901 (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

This design takes the form of a road sign, with the SP-901 Brazil artwork built around a route marker that carries the country's identity in its numbering.

Visual Elements & Composition

The composition is direct and uncluttered. The SP-901 designation sits at the centre of the artwork as the dominant text, set in the bold, legible style of a highway marker. The Brazil reference appears alongside it in parentheses, so the identifier and the country read as one clear statement. Nothing competes with the lettering, which is why the design reads quickly at a glance.

Meaning & Symbolism

The SP prefix is the standard abbreviation for the Brazilian state of São Paulo, and state highways there carry numbers in this format. The road sign motif therefore ties the artwork to Brazil's everyday geography, the routes people drive, rather than to a postcard view. Its themes are Brazil, geographic and cultural, and the design treats the road network as a national emblem in its own right.

Made for the Mixing Glass

A mixing glass is tall, narrow at the base and picked up often, so the design is seen as it moves in the hand and across the table. The sign's upright lettering runs with the glass's vertical lines, and the Brazil marker stays readable from any side as the glass turns. It is a fitting piece for anyone who wants a road trip reference on their bar cart, and a fine conversation starter for the next time someone asks where the numbers come from.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-901-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-SP901-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793696326
