sp-921-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz
SP-921 (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

SP-921 (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

A single alphanumeric code, SP-921, set against the name of Brazil, forms the whole of this design.

Visual Elements & Composition

The layout is stripped to essentials. The designation and the country name carry the image, with no ornament, border or background pattern competing for attention. The lettering is plain and evenly spaced, so the code reads first and the country second. Nothing crowds the composition, which gives it the flat, signage-like clarity of a road sign.

Meaning & Symbolism

The design rests on three themes: geography, designation and national identity. SP is the abbreviation for São Paulo, one of Brazil's states, and the "SP-" prefix is the form used for state-numbered roads there. The code therefore points to a specific route rather than to the country as a whole. Brazil supplies the national frame, and the code supplies the particular path through it.

Reading the Glass

A road sign is read at a glance from a moving vehicle, and this design works the same way: its message lands in a single look. Printed around a tall, curved surface, the lettering turns as the glass is lifted, so the designation appears in sections as it moves in the hand. It suits a gift for someone who has driven Brazil's highways, or for anyone who likes their travel memories kept simple and direct.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-921-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-SP921-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793698616
