sp-929-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz
SP-929 (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

SP-929 (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

This design takes its subject from the road: a Brazilian road sign, catalogued as SP-929 and tied directly to Brazil.

Visual Elements & Composition

The artwork is built around a single road-sign form, with the designation SP-929 and the word Brazil set as the central text. The lettering and the sign's outline do the work, so the composition reads quickly and stays uncluttered. Nothing competes with the sign itself, which is the point of the piece.

Meaning & Symbolism

The "SP" in the designation is the code for São Paulo, one of Brazil's states, so the sign works as a small piece of navigation. Road signs are among the most familiar public symbols anywhere: they tell you where you are and where you are going. Placing that language on a drinking glass gives an everyday piece of Brazilian infrastructure a place at the table.

Made for the Mixing Glass

A mixing glass is held close and tilted often, so the sign turns with your hand as you pour, stir or sip. Because the glass doubles as a serving vessel, the design stays in view from the first shake to the last pour. Give it to someone who has a road trip, a Brazil connection or a taste for good signage, and it will get used.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-929-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-SP929-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793698865
