Its minimalist, graphic construction leaves no decorative clutter, so the sign's outline and its single idea do all the work. The mood is neutral, which lets the composition read as clear and direct rather than ornamental. The designation SP-977 sits at the centre of the naming, and the sign format gives it the plainness of signage meant to be read at a glance.

Meaning & Symbolism

Road signs tell you where you are and what lies ahead, and this design borrows that function to point toward Brazil. It belongs to the geography and national identity themes, acknowledging the country through its place and identity rather than through a narrative scene. The work offers a simple visual reference for the country, built on the straightforward language of public signage.

Shaping the Mixing Glass

A road sign works best when it is seen quickly and clearly, and this glass lets the design do the same. The sleek, clear body gives the artwork a clean field, and the narrowing towards the base means the glass sits comfortably in the hand as it turns. Used for mixing or serving, it keeps the design in view at every stage of the pour, so the sign remains a point of reference through each round.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-977-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-SP977-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793693228
