sp-998-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz
SP-998 (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

SP-998 (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

This design is a road sign, carrying the route code SP-998 and rooted in Brazil.

Visual Elements & Composition

The composition is built around the route designation itself. The letters SP and the numerals 998 are the focal point, set as a plain, legible marker rather than a decorated scene. Nothing competes with the code. There is no illustration and no ornamental border, just the logic of a road sign doing the work.

Meaning & Symbolism

The SP prefix is the key to the piece. Brazilian state highways carry two-letter state codes, and SP stands for São Paulo, the state whose roads are numbered this way. The sign points to a specific place on the map rather than a general idea of Brazil. Its themes are geography and travel: a marker that tells a driver where they are and which road they are on.

Made for the Mixing Glass

A road sign is read at a distance, but this design is read at arm's length. As the glass is lifted and turned, the route code wraps the curve of the vessel and comes into view in pieces. The tall, narrowing form suits a single bold marker, and the code stays legible from whichever side faces the drinker. It is a fitting choice for anyone whose navigation has always depended on the bartender.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/sp-998-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-SP998-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793694136
