A pentagon and a shield shape frame the route number, and the words WEBSTER and PARISH sit above and below the numerals. The layout is straightforward and symmetrical, and the flat vector finish keeps each element sharp. The number is the focal point, with the place name supporting it.

Meaning & Symbolism

Parish roads in Louisiana are the local routes maintained by parish government, and their markers tell travellers which network they are on. Webster Parish is one of the state's parishes, and the number 117 identifies a single road within it. The design honours that local system of navigation, where a small marker carries the identity of a community and its roads.

Life on the Mug

A mug is turned in the hand, so the marker rotates into view, with the parish name appearing first and the route number coming round after it. The white ceramic ground sets the blue panel and yellow lettering in clear contrast, and the marker sits at eye level when the mug is raised for a morning cup.
