The 100th Infantry Division SSI (U.S. Army), often recognized simply as the "Century" or "Magnolia" division, is a historic infantry unit that served in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean War. Activated on June 15, 1942, at Camp Livingston, Louisiana, it was initially composed of National Guard units from Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee. The division saw action in key battles such as Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes-Alsace, Central Europe, and the Rhineland during World War II. In the Korean War, it served in combat from 1950 to 1953. The 100th Infantry Division SSI was deactivated on May 26, 1946, but reorganized and redesignated as the 100th Infantry Brigade (Separate) in 1956, serving until it was again inactivated in 1973. The division's distinctive emblem is a century plant, symbolizing its resilience and endurance despite extreme hardships.
