The 122nd Fighter Wing is a unit of the United States Air Force, falling under the jurisdiction of the New York Air National Guard. Based at Stewart Air National Guard Base in Newburgh, New York, this wing operates the F-15C Eagle fighter aircraft primarily for air defense and air superiority missions. Established on September 24, 1951, the 122nd Fighter Wing has a rich history, with notable deployments during conflicts such as Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
