Description/Blazon:

A shield blazoned: Gules, a pale Argent charged with a palm tree, trunk Or and leaves Vert, flanked in dexter by a triple-towered castle and in sinister by a fleur-de-lis encircled by a laurel wreath, all of the third.

Symbolism:

The red shield represents Artillery. The triple-towered castle symbolizes service in the Philippine Islands during the Spanish-American War. The palm tree signifies participation in the Philippine Insurrection. The wreathed fleur-de-lis commemorates service in World War I.

Background:

The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 250th Coast Artillery Regiment on March 24, 1925. It was redesignated for the 728th Antiaircraft Artillery Gun Battalion on January 9, 1952, then redesignated for the 250th Artillery Regiment on March 17, 1961. The insignia was redesignated for the 250th Air Defense Artillery Regiment on July 6, 1972.
