Description
A shield blazoned: Or, upon a cross Gules, a mullet of the field. Attached below and to the sides of the shield is a red scroll turned gold, inscribed "PERSEVERANDUM" in gold letters.

Symbolism
The yellow shield represents Cavalry. The red cross, derived from the colonial seal and arms of the Merchants of Virginia, symbolizes the state of Virginia, where the 307th Cavalry is allocated, and also represents Field Artillery service during World War I. The mullet (star) signifies service in Texas. The motto, "PERSEVERANDUM," translates to "Persevering" and is inspired by the word "Perseverando" found on the reverse side of the Great Seal of Virginia.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on January 11, 1927. It was rescinded on February 17, 1959.
