The 401st Glider Infantry Regiment is a military unit under the United States Army. Established during World War II as part of the 101st Airborne Division, it specialized in airborne operations using CG-4A Waco gliders for troop transportation. Notable engagements include the Invasion of Normandy, Operation Market Garden, and the Battle of the Bulge. The regiment was deactivated at the end of World War II but reorganized and redesignated several times before being inactivated again in 1963.
