42nd Infantry Regiment (U.S. Army) White Coffee Mug

The 42nd Infantry Regiment is a unit of the United States Army, primarily composed of troops from New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, Connecticut, and Maine. It is also colloquially known as the "Rainbow Division" due to its multistate composition. Established in 1917 during World War I, this regiment has seen active service in numerous conflicts, including both world wars, the Korean War, and various peacekeeping missions. Notable battles include the Meuse-Argonne Offensive, where it was the most decorated American infantry unit, and the Battle of the Bulge during World War II. Today, it serves under the 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team in the New York Army National Guard.
