The 920th Rescue Wing is a unit of the United States Air Force (USAF) based at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona. Primarily known as the "Guardians," this rescue wing is one of the primary components of the USAF's Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) force. The 920th RQW, under the Air Combat Command (ACC), is responsible for conducting search-and-rescue operations worldwide, utilizing a diverse fleet of HC-130 Hercules, HH-60G Pave Hawk, and HC-130J Combat King II aircraft. The wing's mission is to rescue and recover distressed or downed personnel, provide humanitarian aid, and perform other specialized air mobility tasks as needed by the U.S. government and its allies.
