94th General Hospital (US Army) refers to a military hospital unit that served during World War II and the Korean War. Initially activated on February 1, 1942, this M*A*S*H-type unit was one of numerous 94th General Hospitals established by the United States Army to care for wounded soldiers during wartime. The hospital's personnel included doctors, nurses, and support staff who provided medical treatment, surgery, and rehabilitation services on both frontlines and rear areas. During World War II, the 94th General Hospital was deployed in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, France, and Germany. After the war's end, it returned to the United States and was deactivated. In the Korean War, a new 94th General Hospital unit was reactivated at Camp Stoneman, California, before being shipped overseas. This unit served in Japan from August 1950 to January 1952, caring for wounded soldiers from various units involved in the Korean conflict. The 94th General Hospital's experiences during World War II and the Korean War were recounted in several books, articles, and documentaries, contributing to public awareness of military healthcare operations during wartime. The unit's legacy lives on as an important part of U.S. Army medical history.
