The Middle Imperial Coat of Arms of Germany, also known as the Imperial Eagle, represents the heraldry used by the Holy Roman Empire during its middle imperial period from 1450 to 1806. This emblem features a black double-headed eagle with a golden beak and talons, crowned with an open imperial crown, and holding a golden scepter and orb in its talons. The shield below the eagle is usually red and bears six golden shields representing the six electorates of the Empire. This coat of arms symbolized the power and authority of the Emperor and was used in official documents, seals, and flags throughout the Middle Imperial period.
