The Soyuz TM-3 was a flight mission under the Soyuz program, a human spaceflight spacecraft developed by the Russian Space Corporation Rocket and Space Corporation Energia. This particular mission, launched on July 20, 1980, carried a three-person crew to the Soviet Salyut 6 space station. The primary objectives of the Soyuz TM-3 mission included scientific research, maintenance work on the orbital station, and the replacement of the existing crew members. Notably, this mission marked the first time that a long-duration expedition to a space station involved three crew members. The successful return of the crew and their safe landing concluded the mission on November 25, 1980. Subsequent Soyuz missions have continued under the program, contributing significantly to international cooperation in manned space exploration.
