Soyuz TMA-04M (Soyuz Programme) The Soyuz TMA-04M refers to a crewed spacecraft that is part of the Soyuz program, operated by Roscosmos, Russia's space corporation. This particular mission, launched on December 21, 2011, was a flight to and from the International Space Station (ISS). The spacecraft carried three astronauts: Commander Aleksandr Skvortsov of Roscosmos, Flight Engineer Anton Shkaplerov also of Roscosmos, and NASA Flight Engineer Scott Kelly. Soyuz TMA-04M was launched using a Soyuz-FG carrier rocket from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. Upon docking with the ISS on December 23, the crew joined Expedition 30 and Expedition 31 crews aboard the orbital outpost. They returned to Earth on May 16, 2012, landing safely in a remote location in Kazakhstan.
