Soyuz TMA-17M (Soyuz Programme) The Soyuz TMA-17M was a manned spaceflight mission to the International Space Station (ISS) under the Soyuz program, which is a human space transportation service operated by Roscosmos, Russia's federal space agency. Launched on December 21, 2015, Soyuz TMA-17M carried three crew members: Sergey Prokopiev (Russia), Andreas Mogensen (Denmark) representing the European Space Agency, and Aidyn Aimbetov (Kazakhstan). This mission marked the return of Kazakh cosmonauts to long-duration spaceflight following a two-decade hiatus. The spacecraft docked with the ISS on December 23, 2015, where it remained for approximately 87 days before undocking and safely returning its occupants to Earth on April 10, 2016. Soyuz TMA-17M was part of the ongoing efforts by various space agencies to maintain a human presence on the ISS.
